The netting test

This spring I put fine netting over one bed of greens and left the bed next to it open, same seed, same day.

By the end of June the netted bed was nearly untouched. The open one was full of holes from caterpillars, and the hens had found it too. Not really a fair test after that, but the answer is clear enough.

The only problem with the net was one corner the hens pushed under. Two tent pegs fixed it.
